THe crazy days that were...

Our stupid internet has been giving us grief. For the last few days, it has been working for 5 minutes per day. The 3 hours it's been working for today has probably come as another internet service provider has phoned us with another great deal which we are thinking of chasing. 3.5 Mbit cable with unlimited traffic and 69 channels of TV for a little over what we are paying now for 1MBit. Do the maths.

In other news, i've caught a nasty cold and it's not very nice. I think its getting better now. At least I can be thankful for not having to work during the worst days and for not having the same terribly cold weather as we had this time last year. The weather is still in positive figures. A student was telling me today (Yes today is Saturday and I worked) something about some gulfstream coming from the Atlantic which was responsible for the peculiar weather.

We have a bear. It's name is Mr White. And Mr White has been long overdue for a wash. So we decided that it was time for him to have a bath as he was starting to look like Mr Brown. He seemed to enjoy it although he was Mr Damp for about 2 days. Now he is Mr White again and seems to be much happier.

My New Years resolution was to learn more Russian. Last year and the year before (WOW that seems scary when you look at it like that...) I made excuses that I was too busy. This time there will be no more excuses. SO today I did the inevitable and bought a Russian Grammar book. No there is no excuse..

Well I hope you are all doing well. Thank you for your messages. I try to respond to as many as I can. (When my internet works of course) Take care of yourselves

Matt.

G'day Matt and Sveta,
We have internet AND TV reception oh boy oh boy!
So glad that everything has fallen into place upon
your return, your Mum have kept us up to date thus far but as you know I always enjoy reading your blog. I think we both have extreme in weather at the moment your waiting for snow I'm looking for a nice shady tree and a LONG cold Southern and coke. Although we miss everybody so much you cant go past the scenery or the warmth.
The people seem to very friendly, which makes it a little hard to stay inconspicuous, especially when someone who you met somewhere around town introduces you to someone who you just know whose name you wont remember in five minutes time. Never mind, better than the alternative if a little embarrassing> Wouldn't you agree Barry? Anyway time to think about what to do with the rest of our day, might go boogy boarding at Yamba jj
Until next time have fun and take care

Lotsa love Fran and co xxx

Hello there!!!

Its good to hear that a loyal listener has returned. :) :) I'm glad to hear you've made it there. Our weather is crazy indeed. Today was about 0 and tomorrow we're expecting 0 again.

On the subject of a Southern and Coke, make that 2, Barkeep. :) :)

Everyone will be going back to work tomorrow although I have already worked 2 days before then anyway.

Glad to hear that the people are friendly. Tends to make a difference. People here can be quite difficult to get along with if you don't know them. (Or it's not in their best interest)

Anyway everything is going super well here. Enjoying everything that has come my way thus far with a lot more exciting things ahead.

I'll keep you posted on the action as it unfolds. In the meantime, thanks for your message and I hope to speak to you again soon. Take care and goodluck with everything.
